Elihu rebukes Job's three Friends
There was no resolution to the discourses of Job and his three friends which lead to the the introduction of Elihu and his perspective
His evaluation of suffering began with the initial charge to Job's assertion of how God operates in creation as described in His majesty
Then Elihu son of Barchel the Buzite from the family of Ram became angry at Job for he justified himself
Rather than giving God the glory he proceeded to tell everything he had done and why he felt his deeds had been wrongly assessed
He was angry at Job's three friends because they had failed to refute him yet they had Job indicted and condemned
Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were all older than he but he soon saw they could not accurately defend
So he replied I am young in years while you all are old therefore I had been timid and too afraid
To tell you what I know I thought that age should speak and maturity teach wisdom of the age
But it is the spirit in a person the breath from the Almighty that gives anyone understanding and wisdom
It is not only to the old who are wise or the elderly who understand how to judge with godly discernment and vision
Therefore I say listen to me I too will declare what I know I waited for your conclusions and insights
As you sought for words I gave careful attention to you yet no one proved Job or refuted him as righteous in God's sight
So do not claim we have found wisdom let God deal with him not man but Job had not directed his argument to me
Or I would have responded to him with your arguments the friends now dismayed and no longer answered for words had left them totally
Should I continue to wait now that they are silent and continue to stand there and can no longer answer
I too will answer yes I too will tell what I know for I am full of words and my spirit compels me to speak in righteous anger
My heart is like unvented wine that is about to burst like new wineskins I must speak to find relief lest I burst
I must open my lips and respond and not show partiality to no one and I will give no one an undeserved title to add to what's unjust
For I do know how to give such titles but if I did then my Maker would remove me without question
Eliab though younger shows wisdom that is to be learned and practiced he will show this from his perspective and God's directive
